MAYnet
The MAYnet project, through its work programme, is designed to ENGAGE young people in meaningful media-related civic actions, CONNECT youth, youth organizations, and policymakers across Europe around shared democratic values, and EMPOWER youth through accessible, high-quality learning opportunities and cooperation.
Building on nearly a decade of partners’ experience in youth media education, and four CDER’s EU-funded projects that have involved youth organizations from Europe, Africa, and Latin America, MAYnet will consolidate and expand its future work through four key project objectives:
1. Enhance MAYnet capacity through education and mentoring Deliver two structured 5-month online courses to 26 youth activists across 13 countries.
2. Expand the Transnational Youth Magazine (TYM) Strengthen the TYM’s visibility and influence by establishing an international editorial board and increasing publication to over 40 articles in 2026.
3. Strengthen and grow the MAYnet 3+ new member organizations; Declaration on Youth Media Literacy with 25+ signatories; 1 follow-up projects.
4. Promote media literacy and the MAYnet across Europe Reach out to 300+ pro-youth stakeholders and thousands of young people and youth workers.
MAYnet’s work will directly contribute to more resilient, critically minded, and democratically engaged youth communities across Europe, leveraging open educational resources and youth-generated content to advance civic participation and media pluralism.

Third Consortium Meeting of MEDIActive Youth Project held in Podgorica
On May 19, the city of Podgorica welcomed representatives of the MEDIActive Youth project for their third full-day consortium meeting. This regional initiative, which promotes media literacy and critical thinking among youth, gathered eight participants representing six partner organizations.
Online MEDIActive Project Meeting
On December 4th, we successfully held our second full-day meeting in an online format, bringing together a dedicated group of eight participants. Among them were BRAVO representatives as well as participants from our five partner organizations. The meeting served as a valuable opportunity to reflect on our progress and plan for the next steps.

Kick-off Meeting for the Project “MEDIActive Youth“

In a world where the role of media has been so great that the term ‘mediacracy’ (the rule of media) has been frequently used to describe it, the need for media and news literacy and media activism of young people and youth NGOs is apparent. The media are not simple transmitters, but crucial creators of messages and have a pivotal role in creating and swaying public opinion.
