From July 13th to July 19th, 2026, BRAVO hosted the Erasmus+ project “Narratives of Peace” in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This project brought together young leaders and youth workers from across Europe and beyond to focus on creativity, dialogue, and building peace in today’s world.
By combining digital media with new ways of learning, participants discovered how to use storytelling as a powerful tool to help solve conflicts and encourage understanding between different cultures.
The program balanced intense training with the chance to experience Sarajevo’s unique history and spirit. After arriving on July 13th, participants spent the following days in deep-dive workshops. They learned essential digital storytelling skills, such as video production, sound design, and how to build a strong narrative. They also took part in training focused on mediation, conflict resolution, and methods for fostering peace.
Beyond the classroom, the group explored the natural beauty of Bosnia and Herzegovina during a fun rafting adventure. They also celebrated together during an Intercultural Night, where everyone shared the music, traditions, and food from their home countries. This experience helped them build strong friendships that go beyond borders.
A major highlight of the week was the creation of six impressive short videos. These projects are more than just films; they are practical tools for advocacy. Each video focuses on themes of peace, empathy, and dialogue. These films will serve as lasting resources for youth work across Europe.
This project was made possible thanks to the dedication of our international partners: Associazione Slow Tourism Trentino Alto Adige from Italy, Creative Youth from Armenia, the Institute for Vinnytsia Region Public Initiatives from Ukraine, the Youth Center of Georgia, ANKA EGITIM GENCLIK VE SPOR KULUBU DERNEGI from Türkiye, 35MM from Montenegro, Jedi Movement from Serbia, Youth Senate Bulgaria, and Hangolda Egyesület from Hungary, and of course the project coordinator – The International Alliance for Integration and Sustainability (IAIS).
As the participants departed on July 19th, they took home more than just new technical skills. They left with a renewed sense of purpose, a stronger network of colleagues, and the understanding that while our personal stories may differ, our shared hope for a peaceful future is universal.
