BRAVO BiH

My participation in the project Fast Forward in Durrës was truly an unforgettable experience. The project was more than just a discussion about climate change as a theory and it made me see the real impact and the urgency of the issue. Over the five days, I had the opportunity to learn more about climate change and the widespread misinformation surrounding it. The discussions, workshops, and hands-on activities helped me realize how important it is to stay informed and take action. Between the workshops, we took time to connect, sharing our cultures, personal challenges, and aspirations. What began as fun activities turned into lasting memories, and late-night talks sparked new ideas. The beach of Durrës, with its beautiful view, became the perfect setting for both learning and buliding friendships.

One of the best parts of this experience was connecting with so many like-minded young people who are just as passionate about making a difference. I met people from Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, and Spain, and it was amazing to exchange ideas, learn about their cultures, and see how climate change affects different countries. Listening to different perspectives was really insightful, and it made me realize that, despite coming from different places, we all share the same concerns and hopes for the future. I left feeling more aware, motivated, and eager to contribute in any way I can.

The friendships and memories I made during this project will stay with me for a long time, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an impactful and meaningful journey.” – Amina Prazina

My exchange experience in Durres, Albania, was absolutely incredible! I am very happy to be part of an experience that allowed me to meet people from Spain, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Albania and to get to know different opinions and mindsets. I had the chance to immerse myself in different cultures, exchange ideas, and share unique experiences. The program was not just about learning from others but also discovering myself and growing in ways I hadn’t expected. The education that we had was from very experienced people who knew what they were presenting and what message they wanted to sent to us. I have learned a lot more about climate changes and the problems we are all dealing with in Balkan countries. Despite our differences, it felt like we were all part of one big, united community, sharing similar concerns and working together towards solutions. The projects we worked on regarding climate change are something I will definitely try to implement in my own projects in Bosnia. I plan to share the ideas and insights I gained during the exchange, particularly the strategies for raising awareness and education in young people.

I was very surprised by the warm welcome from people from Albania and the way they tried to make our experience as fun and as educational as possible. The local people were not only incredibly friendly, but they also went out of their way to ensure that we had a meaningful and enriching experience. From offering to take us on a tour, show us around and take us to not so touristy places, they made our experience even better and the friends that we met there really proved to be great hosts and in love with their country.

If the beaches of Durres could talk, they would tell the story of the hours we spent there – talking, having fun, playing silly games, and even discussing life’s challenges. Those moments by the sea were filled with laughter and deep conversations, creating memories that will stay with us forever. You know you’ve truly enjoyed your time when you feel regretful about going to sleep, wishing you could have spent just a little more time talking and connecting with people.

Overall, my time in Durres will always hold a special place in my heart and hopefully friendships that will last for a long time. – Anesa Zahiragić

First of all, I want to say that “Fast Forward” YE in Durres was a truly inspiring and positive experience from which I have learned so much. The project was well organized, clear and it equipped us with a useful knowledge package regarding the climate change. During these fantastic five days we had a chance to explore climate issues through targeted modules on sustainability, environmental justice, digitalization and innovation. I have realized that we share a lot of common climate change problems and our responsibility is to fight them. Also, getting a better understanding of the climate situation in Albania and Western Balkans was something that truly touched me and inspired me to continue my education and work in this field.

Gaining useful knowledge and skills was not the only thing that made this project special. Connecting with so many wonderful people and exchanging experiences both during and after workshops was amazing. New friendships, Durres, late night walks and talks made this experience unforgettable. I am so happy and grateful that I got the chance to be a part of this wonderful story. – Berin Gasal

This was the first project where I truly realized how much good company can influence one’s perception of the entire experience. I had an amazing time, so much so that I wish I could go back for just one more day, just to spend it with those incredible people.

From the very beginning, the energy of the group made every activity more engaging and meaningful. The connections I formed with the people I met here were truly special, and I believe that was one of the main reasons why this project left such a deep impact on me. Every moment spent together whether during the official program or in our free time was filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, and unforgettable memories. It was one of those rare experiences where, at the end, you just wish you could stay one more day, just to relive it all again with the same people.

Durrës itself played a big role in making this experience so unique. Before coming here, I didn’t know much about the city, but thanks to the amazing locals I met, I was able to truly experience its richness in a way that I never would have if I had visited alone. They introduced me to hidden spots, shared stories about their culture, and showed me the soul of the city that goes far beyond what a tourist might see. It’s incredible how much a place can change in your eyes when you see it through the perspective of someone who loves and cherishes it.

One of my absolute favorite parts of the project was the extracurricular activities. While the official sessions were informative and engaging, the moments spent outside the program are the ones that will stay with me forever. The night we spent on the beach, sitting on blankets, looking at the stars, and reflecting on everything in our lives was truly amazing. There was something incredibly peaceful and yet so powerful about that moment just us, the sound of the waves, and the realization of how lucky we were to be there together. It was one of those rare moments in life when you feel completely present, where nothing else matters except the people around you and the memories you’re creating together.

That last night was especially emotional. As I walked along the shore, I tried to take in every detail—the way the waves kissed the sand, the warm glow of the streetlights reflecting off the water, the charm of the city’s buildings standing proudly along the coast. But most of all, I tried to remember the people. The friendships I built here are something I will carry with me forever. I will never forget the conversations, the shared laughter, the moments of deep reflection, and the feeling of belonging to something truly special.

Beyond the emotional and social aspects, this project also opened my eyes to something much bigger the importance of protecting our natural environment. One of the key lessons I took away was how crucial it is to preserve the beauty around us, just as the Albanian people have done with the Vjosa River. Seeing how much effort has been put into keeping this river untouched and thriving made me reflect on how we should all take responsibility for protecting our own natural resources. It’s easy to take nature for granted, but when you see what can be lost, you start to understand why conservation efforts matter.

Durrës has left such a strong mark on me that I know I will return one day. Not just to revisit the beautiful locations, but to relive the emotions, to walk the same streets and remember the incredible experiences I had with the amazing people I met. This project has given me something truly invaluable friendships, memories, and a new way of seeing the world. And for that, I will always be grateful. – Emelin Hasanspahić
