“From the moment I arrived, I knew my Erasmus experience in Sweden would be unforgettable. What struck me first was the setting, our activities took place in a commune nestled deep in nature, surrounded by forests and serene landscapes. The scenery was idyllic, almost like something from a dream. One of my favorite memories was canoeing on the lake, the stillness of the water, the fresh air, and the quiet beauty of the surroundings. I could have stayed out there forever.
But what truly made this trip special was the people and the cultural exchange. Intercultural nights opened my eyes to so many traditions, and I only wished they had lasted longer. Yet, no matter where you go, Balkan people always find each other, we bonded instantly over shared humor, music, and that unmistakable warmth that feels like home. Through conversations with people from different countries, I realized how much we all have in common. Who knew Georgians and Bosnians would share so many similarities? And then there was fika, the Swedish coffee ritual that I quickly grew to love. Those breaks became my lifeline, fueling late-night campfire talks and endless laughter.
This journey was more than just an exchange. It was a chapter of connection, discovery, and memories I’ll cherish forever. Every moment, every opportunity, I loved it all!” – Hana Mahmutović
“I was beyond amazed by this project and diverse groups of people I got to meet there. Not only did I learn many new useful things, that could be implemented in my day-to-day life, but also learned new meaningful things that opened my eyes to different perspectives I wasn’t aware of. My goal now is to make my digital habits more sustainable, and hopefully making a good example for others to follow.
As in any youth exchange, highlight definitely is on meeting new people and embracing different cultures. Thankfully, this project did exactly that. It was my first time meeting people from Georgia or Sweden, strengthening the bonds with Croatian team, learning something unique from Germany or enjoying the uniqueness of volunteering group that helped throughout the whole project. I entered the project not knowing anyone, and came back home with new friends and great memories.” – Anida Hebibović
“Being part of the Erasmus+ youth exchange about digital technologies and digital waste was such a great experience, especially since I study Electrical Engineering. It was really interesting to see how the things we learn in theory connect to real-life issues like e-waste and sustainability. We had a lot of fun but also meaningful workshops and discussions that made me think more about the impact of our digital habits and how I, as a future engineer can help make technology more responsible and eco-friendly.
What I’ll remember the most, though, are the people and the cultures I got to experience. Everyone brought something unique, and I loved how open and friendly the atmosphere was. Georgian culture especially left a strong impression on me. Their warmth, music, and traditions really stood out. It felt like more than just an exchange, it was a chance to grow, both professionally and personally. I’m really grateful I got to be a part of it.” – Elma Hodžić
“Reflecting on my time in Sweden, as part of the Erasmus+ youth exchange on developing technologies and their impact on the environment, I can’t help but feel deeply enriched by the experience. The exchange brought together young people from various cultures, each contributing unique perspectives on the topic. Throughout the week, we delved into thought-provoking discussions about how technologies, such as AI, are shaping our lifestyle and the environment. It was very eye-opening to learn more on this topic and hear many different opinions and aspects. One of the highlights was visiting Jonkoping and getting to interact with local people, exchanging opinions and heartwarming words. Besides, I can happily say I connected with many people and that the memories we made during the workshops will be unforgettable.
I am very grateful for this experience. It helped expand my knowledge and meet many new amazing people and cultures. I am very motivated to continue exploring this topic and I hope to use the knowledge and connections I made to make a difference.” – Mersiha Halilčević
“My exchange experience in Sweden has left an unforgettable mark on me, especially the friendships I built and will cherish forever. Meeting wonderful people and learning about their cultures was by far the most beautiful part of this journey. In just a few days, I will reunite with friends from Croatia, with whom I grew very close during this exchange. I learned to dance the traditional Albanian “Vallë” thanks to my Kosovar friends, enjoyed countless “fika” (coffee breaks), and loved Sweden’s pizza topped with fries.
From the Germans, I learned about preserving technology in ways that protect the environment, and I developed my critical thinking, realizing how much my phone usage harms the planet — something I can now even calculate thanks to the skills I gained. One of my most treasured memories is sitting by the lake with people from all over the world, knowing how rare it would be to meet them again, singing under the stars. I even had the chance to go canoeing on a beautiful Swedish lake! And, as a special bonus, right when I arrived, I had a reunion with a Croatian participant I had previously met during my exchange in Turkey. This experience truly changed me in ways words can hardly describe.
I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait for many more to come.” – Farah Šehović
