From February 5th to 7th in Tirana, Albania, partners from Italy, Latvia, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, and representatives from BRAVO met to wrap up activities of the project “Sharing Design Your Job” (SDYJ). This initiative, which began with its implementation in March 2022 with a meeting in Sarajevo, aimed to create and test new ICT education programs and methodologies suitable for the systematic pre-qualification and re-training of unemployed or marginalized young people. This edition marked a continuation of the “Design Your Job” (DYJ) initiative, under which four projects had already been developed.
The project provided youth with opportunities to gain skills in one of the following topics: Hardware Manipulation, UX Design, Digital Marketing, Web Development, and Graphic Design. Through these five training courses, we directly involved over 70 individuals.
In addition to skill acquisition, participants had the chance to share their knowledge with others and develop soft skills such as public speaking and communication. One of our proudest achievements as a team working on this project is the creation of handbooks. These handbooks, correlating with the training topics, are available to anyone eager to gain basic IT knowledge and skills and ready to embrace new challenges.
To illustrate the project’s impact, here is a testimonial from a participant of the training course in Albania: “This being my first project of this nature, it was an incredible experience. Recommended by a friend, I could never have imagined it would be like this. The whole experience was extraordinary. The people I met, the experiences I gained, and the personal growth I achieved during this project were phenomenal. I never thought these social activities were for me, but there I found myself, my better self. I didn’t have to pretend; I was just the real me. I will be forever grateful for this opportunity and hope for many more.“
During the TPM, partners discussed the achieved results, focusing on the partnership relationships. Based on these discussions, we can say that there are plans to continue implementing this project in the future!
