ABOUT THE PROJECT
Natural resources are each day decreasing due to human activities. Today, we are facing many problems such as pollution and a reduction in biodiversity. On one hand, there is a lack of healthy food, drinking water, forests, animals, and on the other the “concrete jungle” is taking over.
Changing our attitude towards the environment and the way we live, becomes a must not a choice! One of the keys to the solution to this problem is special dedication in the field of environmental education and protection.
It is a priority to spread environmental awareness, need to protect the environment and the use of natural resources more responsibly at all levels.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The main objectives are:
- Raising awareness of the importance of changing everyday habits into a more sustainable and eco-friendly way.
- Empowering young people to take initiative and become proactive.
- Developing competencies on personal and professional level that will put young people on the higher level of the labor market.
- Strengthening regional Western Balkan 6 cooperation.
PARTICIPANTS PROFILE
- Participants must be between 16-30 years old;
- Eager to learn something new, contribute their time and knowledge;
- Playful, active and curious;
- Willing to participate in the project through all the phases (preparation, exchange program, follow up activities);
- Eager to spread the results of the project by creating a follow-up activity within 1 month after the project finishes;
- Able to communicate in simple English.
ABOUT HOSTING ORGANIZATION
Vega Youth Center is a non-profit, non-governmental organization for young people, founded in December 2000 in Belgrade. We are dedicated to building a quality environment for the growth and development of children and young people through social engagement, critical thinking and creativity.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD & TRAVELLING
Accomodation will be in Magnet House, modern, urbane education center located in Veliki Gaj, only 15km from Vrsac (Serbia).
In Magnet House there are five triple bedrooms, one five-bed room, and one ten-bedroom, with total capacity for 30 people. It is equipped with large working space designed to for activities of civil society organizations, there are two large dining rooms (that can be used as a working space for smaller groups), modern kitchen, toilets with access for wheelchairs, as well as big garden suitable for outdoor activities.

Food will be vegetarian in order to start practicing ECO lifestyle.
