One of the most important parts of the UniTos – United through Sport project is the organization of international mobilities and inclusive sports camps that will bring together children, youth, and sports professionals from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia.
Throughout the project, participants will have the opportunity to travel, learn, train, and connect through traditional sports activities designed to promote inclusion, friendship, and intercultural understanding.
The mobilities are designed not only as sports activities, but also as spaces for social inclusion, cultural exchange, and personal development. Children and young people, with and without disabilities, will participate equally in all activities, creating an environment based on teamwork, respect, and equal opportunities.
International Sports Camps
As part of the project, four international sports camps will be organized:
- 🇭🇷 Croatia
- 🇸🇮 Slovenia
- 🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina
- 🇷🇸 Serbia
Each partner country will host one two-day international camp focused on traditional sports and inclusive participation.
During these camps, participants will:
- learn about traditional sports from different Balkan countries
- participate in adapted sports activities
- develop teamwork and communication skills
- meet peers from different cultural and social backgrounds
- exchange experiences and build international friendships
The camps will create safe and supportive environments where children and youth can actively participate regardless of their physical abilities or social background.
Participation of Coaches and Trainers
The project also strongly supports the involvement of coaches, trainers, and sports professionals.
Each partner organization will select:
- 5 participants (children/youth)
- 2 staff members or trainers
who will attend all international mobilities and sports camps organized within the project.
Through these mobilities, trainers will have the opportunity to:
- exchange knowledge and good practices with international colleagues
- learn innovative approaches to inclusive sports
- gain practical experience in adaptive sports methodologies
- contribute to the development of inclusive training programs
- strengthen international cooperation in the field of sport and inclusion
In addition, trainers will participate in focus groups and educational activities aimed at improving the quality of sports programs for children with disabilities.
Promoting Inclusion Through Mobility
The international mobilities within UniTos are designed to break down social barriers and create opportunities for meaningful interaction among young people from different countries and communities.
By traveling together, training together, and sharing experiences, participants will build trust, empathy, and mutual understanding. These experiences are especially important in the Western Balkans, where sport can play a powerful role in strengthening regional cooperation and reconciliation.
The project demonstrates that mobility and sport can become tools for positive social change, empowering young people to become more open, active, and inclusive members of society.
Building Lasting Connections
Beyond the project activities themselves, the mobilities aim to create long-term friendships and partnerships among participants, organizations, and communities.
Through sport, cultural exchange, and inclusive participation, UniTos continues to prove that differences should never be barriers—but opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together.
