Erasmus+ and EU-funded projects are much more than travel opportunities. They are learning experiences that help young people understand Europe, meet people from different cultures, and build skills that are useful for education, work, and everyday life.

Through Erasmus+ projects, young people can take part in international youth exchanges, training courses, volunteering activities, study visits, seminars, and other non-formal education programmes. These activities create a space where participants learn by doing, sharing, discussing, creating, and working together with peers from different countries.

For many young people, the first Erasmus+ experience becomes a turning point. It is often the first time they travel independently, speak English in an international environment, present their ideas in front of others, or work in a multicultural team. These moments build confidence. They help young people understand their own potential and see that they can be active citizens, future leaders, project creators, volunteers, educators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers in their communities.

EU projects also support values that are important for today’s society. They promote inclusion, equality, intercultural dialogue, active citizenship, digital skills, environmental awareness, solidarity, and cooperation across borders. Participants do not only gain knowledge about a topic. They also learn how to listen, respect differences, solve problems, take initiative, and work with people who may have different backgrounds, experiences, and opinions.
