BRAVO BiH

On November 5, 2026, we held a special workshop at the Izvor nade Foundation as part of the Inclusive Spaces – Inclusive Communities project. Bringing together 17 participants, the workshop focused on exploring inclusion and rethinking how public spaces can become more accessible and welcoming to everyone.

Based on the Design Thinking methodology, the workshop encouraged participants to step into the shoes of people with different needs and experiences, empathize with their everyday challenges, and identify barriers they encounter in public spaces. Working collaboratively, participants explored these challenges and developed creative ideas for addressing them.

The workshop was highly productive and resulted in several inspiring ideas, including sign language courses, more accessible public toilets, and dedicated traffic signals and street signage designed to better accommodate people with different needs.

Beyond the ideas themselves, the workshop offered an opportunity to look at public spaces from different perspectives and recognize that creating inclusive communities starts with understanding the experiences of others and turning that understanding into meaningful action.

The workshop was facilitated by BRAVO member Jakuta Duvljak and was also attended by our Management Board Member Azra Tupkušić, who introduced participants to BRAVO’s work, the Inclusive Spaces – Inclusive Communities project, and the support of the Visegrad Fund.

The project is co-financed by the governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
