From 23 to 25 September 2026, partners of the Second Chance project gathered in Ljubljana, Slovenia, for a three-day symposium dedicated to skills development, creativity, youth entrepreneurship, and new opportunities in the fields of design and textiles.
The symposium brought together project partners, young participants, and other stakeholders to exchange experiences, present ideas, and discuss practical ways of supporting young people in transforming their skills and creativity into concrete opportunities.
A particular focus of the symposium was placed on the concept of “Try Your Skills” stations. The idea was designed to give visitors an opportunity to experience different creative and practical activities themselves. At each station, participants could create a small product in approximately 10–15 minutes, such as earrings, keychains, printed textile items, or other small products based on upcycling, textile design, and creativity.
Each participating organisation prepared one or two activity tables, allowing visitors to move between different stations and discover a variety of skills and techniques.
The symposium also provided an opportunity to highlight the achievements of young people involved in the Second Chance project. The programme included presentations and discussions focused on participants who have developed their own products, created business ideas, or achieved other concrete results through the project.
The Ljubljana symposium was another important step in the implementation of the Second Chance project. By connecting organisations, young people, creative skills, and entrepreneurial opportunities, the project continues to promote inclusive learning and empower participants to recognise their potential and explore new pathways for their future.
The Second Chance project brings together partners from Slovenia, Sweden, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania, working together to promote inclusive education, textile design, entrepreneurship, and opportunities for young people.
Through activities such as the Ljubljana symposium, the project continues to create spaces where learning goes beyond theory — giving young people the opportunity to try, create, share, and turn their skills into new possibilities.
