From July 21 to July 23, 2026, the municipality of Vukosavlje hosted a practical training program for local representatives from Vukosavlje, Modriča, and Odžak. Organized by BRAVO, the training gave local leaders the essential skills they need to find and secure European Union funding.
The training was led by Ismail Šehić, Director of BRAVO and Brain Tank, who has extensive experience writing, managing, and running European projects. Instead of just giving lectures, he used a hands-on, interactive approach.
Participants worked through real-world examples to make international grant applications easier to understand and handle.
Throughout the three days, attendees learned about every step of building an EU project. The training covered an introduction to EU funding and Erasmus+, looking at available funds for youth mobility, cooperation, and community development. Participants also learned how to search for open calls that fit their local and regional goals.
Building on these foundations, the training walked through the full life cycle of a project, from the first idea to the final evaluation. Attendees practiced turning community needs into clear project ideas and writing strong concept notes. They also received step-by-step guidance on how to fill out complex application forms and how to plan and manage an EU project budget correctly.
Having representatives from Vukosavlje, Modriča, and Odžak in the same room showed a strong commitment to working together across municipal borders. By sharing ideas and solving problems as a team during the training, participants built a solid foundation for future local partnerships.
Armed with new tools, templates, and expert advice, these local leaders are heading back to their offices ready to bring new projects to their communities. Through training programs like this one, BRAVO is helping local towns take an active role in Europe’s future.
