BRAVO BiH

With the aim of enhancing dialogue and strengthening cooperation between domestic institutions and key international stakeholders, an important coordination meeting focused on strategic reforms in the fields of education and youth policy was held in Sarajevo.

 

This initiative represents a continuation of ongoing efforts to align domestic standards with European practices and to create a better environment for youth development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

This event brought together all relevant stakeholders in one place to analyze past results, map current challenges, and define the next steps in implementing key reform processes.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina have invited all relevant entity and cantonal ministries, youth organizations, foreign embassies, and international partners (such as UN agencies, OSCE, OHR, and others) to a joint meeting of two forums:

 

  • The Forum of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH and international partner organizations involved in activities related to youth issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  • The Coordination Forum of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH and international partner organizations involved in the education reform process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Proposed Agenda and Key Topics

During the working session of the meeting, attendees had the opportunity to hear presentations and participate in discussions on several key topics crucial to the education system and the youth sector:

 
  • Regulated Professions – The focus was on the implementation of undertaken international and domestic obligations in this area (Rapporteur: Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH).

  • Draft Document for Improving the Quality of Education in BiH (2026–2035) – Presentation of the long-term strategy and vision for the development of the education system (Rapporteur: UNESCO Office in BiH).

  • Overview of Activities Realized Within the U-Report Platform – Analysis of the results of this digital tool designed for engaging youth in social processes (Rapporteur: UNICEF Office in BiH).

  • Overview of Activities Realized Within the Campaign “The Power and Influence of Youth Work in BiH” – A review of achievements in strengthening the youth sector and activism (Rapporteur: Institute for Youth Development KULT).

Logistical Notes for Participants

To ensure an efficient workflow and compliance with organizational procedures, invited institutions and organizations were requested to note the following rules:

 

  • Participant Limit: The organizers kindly requested that each institution or organization be represented by only one individual (or an alternate, provided their contact details and email address are submitted).

  • Language of the Meeting: The meeting is to be conducted in the official languages in use in Bosnia and Herzegovina. International partners and guests who required translation were invited to arrange for their own interpretation services in accordance with their needs.

The official invitation on behalf of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH was signed by the Secretary of the Ministry, Biljana Čamur Veselinović. This meeting managed to yield concrete conclusions and guidelines for further joint work on improving the status of youth and the quality of education in the country.
