This project is supported and co-funded by the Erasmus+ program. It means that your travel costs, accommodation, and food will be fully covered if you get selected for the project. The European Commission’s support for the production of this publication does not constitute an endorsement of the contents, which reflect the views only of the authors, and the Commission nor EACEA can be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.
For this project, chess—a game or sport played all over the world for centuries—will be used as a common language among participants. Through various games, activities, workshops, and communicative exchanges, we will address current societal issues and values. The goal is for young participants to exchange ideas, design methods for inclusion and diversity, and propose creative solutions to combat situations of inequality and discrimination.
To be selected for this project, a minimum chess skill level is required. This can be verified through a chess federation membership card, a Lichess username, or a FIDE ELO rating.
Participants will need to actively participate in the design and implementation of the project’s activities with the help of the rest of their national team and group leader (e.g., group dynamics, expositions, warm-ups).
No tolerance for discriminatory behavior: Any form of discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other factors is strictly prohibited.
Mutual respect: All participants must treat others with respect, including locals with whom they will be sharing public spaces.
Respect for natural spaces: No littering or leaving rubbish outside containers.
Participation in dissemination activities during and after the event is expected.
The youth exchange will take place in Narón (Galicia, Spain) between 29th October and 5th November. The venue is yet to be confirmed, but accommodation and food will be provided. Facilities provided by the local Chess club in Narón will also be used.
We will get back to you as soon as possible!
