The general aim of the project is to prevent homophobic cyber-bullying among young people: a form of bullying that takes place over digital devices and platforms like mobile phones, computers, social media and tablets perpetrated against LGBTQI youth (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intrasexual).
The main objectives will be reached through the attainment of the following specific objectives:
1. Promotion of a respectful language used through digital devices and platforms referred to LGBTQI;
2. Spreading a respectful and appropriate language when referring to LGBTQI communities, particularly in the use of the internet and social media;
3. Creating a permanent network of youth associations and Youth Workers to promote prevention and raise awareness on the theme of homophobic cyberbullying.
Specifically, the proposed virtual activities involve youth workers, giving them the opportunity to develop a virtual exchange project with other colleagues from different countries. Thanks to the project, youth workers will become true factors in preventing homophobic cyberbullying by guiding and supporting young people inside and outside the consortium.
One-day training course dedicated to youth workers who wants to improve their competences on how to promote intercultural dialogue online. Approximately 300 participants from Italy, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Albania, and Montenegro will come together for a training course to promote online intercultural dialogue among young people.
Our program is dedicated to empowering young individuals aged 18 and above, seeking to expand their knowledge and skills while actively participating in the prevention of homophobic cyber-bullying affecting LGBTQI youth. We welcome participants who are open to cross-cultural connections, whether they aspire to be entrepreneurs, contemplate career changes, or are considering life as digital nomads, all while understanding the importance of fostering a respectful digital environment, especially in LGBTQI contexts within internet and social media. Proficiency in English is a prerequisite, and active engagement in all training sessions is mandatory.
Once all participants are selected, a survey will be sent out which must be filled out before the start of the training course.
We will get back to you as soon as possible!
