In the period 11-14 of November 2021 in Sakarya, Turkey was held #SafeSPORTevent midterm meeting that gathered the partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey to evaluate the project progress so far and to plan together the future project actions. During the mobility, the consortium had as well fruitful meetings with local stakeholders from Sport Department of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sport and Sport Department of Sakarya Applied Sciences University. At the meetings has been discussed ideas and good practices in the field of safety and security in sport and have been exchanged views on the potential development of mutual cooperation on the topic in the future.
#SafeSPORTevent project comes in very challenging times for Europe and the world when safety and security are crucial and the sport sector is not an exception.
. #SafeSPORTevent is an Erasmus+ co-funded initiative that aims to protect athletes, officials and fans, participating in sport events, from health and safety hazards by improving training and competition conditions and especially during forcemajor security threads that need to be handled by specific security protocols. #SafeSPORTevent project aims develop skills and knowledge through educational mobility of sport managers, volunteers and administrators in order to empower them to co-create and use specific protocols for safety and security, tailored for sport events and gatherings of huge groups of people in sport environment. Through increased educational possibilities in the field of safety and security in sport, #SafeSPORTevent project ensures positive change in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey as direct project beneficiaries, but also all over Europe as project deliverables will be freely shared with the sport community.
#SafeSPORTevent is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European union and is coordinated by Bulgarian Sports Development Association in cooperation with BRAVO – Bosnian Representative Association for Valuable Opportunities (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sofia Security Forum (Bulgaria), ΑΕΤΟΙ ΘΕΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΗΣ (Greece) and Karasu Gençlik, Sanat ve Spor Kulübu Derneği (Turkey).
