When talking with young people about environment, green skills, youth workers/trainers have to start from inflicting some habits of green lifestyle while informing them on environmental elements, then proceed to issues like green economy, green jobs and green entrepreneurship.
Green skills training of youth workers is crucial to lead other young people toward green lifestyle and jobs, which reduces the environmental impact of enterprises/economic sectors and help to avoid generation of waste and pollution.
International youth exchanges are a great source of learning and personal development for youth, with a great potential for generating local impact and multiplying effect, using, among other things, digital tools.
We believe that through long-term support for participants on this project we can create a group of trained green youth leaders/ workers who can brainstorm together with participants from other partner organizations, and create new activities at local and European context.
Green jobs in emerging economies/developing countries, such as Albania include opportunities for youth managers, scientists and technicians, but also can benefit a broad cross-section of the population which need it the most: youth, women, farmers, rural populations and families living in poverty.
Green economy is more equitable and inclusive of all the people and countries and also a response against unemployment of young people.
Scope
◆In the project framework, we aim to raise awareness on climate change mitigation and adaption strategies, through educating youth on issues related to climate change and environmental problems, and try to prepare them towards a green skills and jobs future market.
◆In order to do so, our scope is to use digitalization as a tool, a collaborative digital map to spread the project impact to youth (and beyond youth) and citizens at local and international level.
Goal 1
Engage at least 100+ youth on training, exchange activities with other peers from Europe and the Balkan region, as well as disseminate the project findings in a large scale event.
Goal 2
Disseminate 8 – IO (Intellectual Outputs) regarding research on environmental and climate change hotspots in Albania, Serbia, North Macedonia, Portugal, Kosovo, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania.
Goal 3
Use non-formal learning methods, such as a collaborative digital map, in order to raise awareness on climate change adaption and mitigation strategies, by promoting a nature responsible behavior and digital green skill sets for youth, by providing interesting, hands on and useful information in a practical way.
