BRAVO held another event. This time it was through the “BRICKS” project. This was the fourth “BRICKS” event and its name was “We are all humans”. It took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, between the 9th and 12th January, 2023.

What is “BRICKS”?

The project “BRICKS” is dedicated to young European citizens interested in sharing knowledge and perspectives about actual key themes relevant for their future, as well as for the European Unions’ future such as civil and human rights, migration, environment, and youth employability.

More about the event

This event gathered 58 youngsters (18-24 years old) from different EU Countries (Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Portugal, and Cyprus) according to their orientation towards EU policies related to the selected themes (Euro skeptics and Euro supporters). It involved learning about EU history and values, EU bodies and their functioning, participants developed critical thinking on sensitive matters, debated and exchanged their thoughts with peers from other EU Countries and developed a document containing all their ideas and recommendations to be presented in Brussels to the EU policy makers during the last event. The event also involved the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® process, which offers a unique way of engaging participants through the power of using 3 dimensional, physical models to fire-start authentic stories related to human rights and migration.

This was only the beginning for the BRAVO team in 2023 so stay tuned for more Open calls and projects coming up!

The purpose of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is to change “lean backward meetings” to “lean forward meetings” , where the result is more participation, more insights surfaced, more engagement and, ultimately, more commitment and faster implementations.

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method (LSP) is a facilitated thinking, communication and problem solving technique for use with organisations, teams and individuals. It draws on extensive research from the fields of business, organisational development, psychology and learning, and is based on the concept of “hand knowledge.”

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is based on a set of fundamental beliefs about leadership and organizations:

  • Leaders don’t have all the answers
  • Their success is dependent on hearing all voices in the room
  • People naturally want to contribute, be part of something bigger and take ownership
  • All too often, teams work sub optimally leaving knowledge untapped in team members
  • We live in a world which best can be described as complex and adaptive and allowing each member to contribute and speak out results in a more sustainable business

The LEGO®SERIOUS PLAY® method is not based on any new or ground breaking science. Instead it is grounded in action research and evidence drawn from a range of existing science desciplines and proven research within these fields. The dominant disciplines are Constructivism, Neuroscience, Flow, Play and Imagination.
