“My time in Vinnytsia, Ukraine during the Social Entrepreneurship project was one of those experiences that shift how you think about leadership, creativity and life in general.We played a series of business simulation games where I got to step into the role of CEO for a day- selling hats and making decisions, guiding a team and seeing how every choice shapes the outcome.
It was a mix of teamwork, strategy and working under pressure. We also developed and pitched our own business ideas in groups and I was proud to win second place in both games. Outside the workshops, we visited local entrepreneurs, a bakery founded by a woman with a PhD in economy who just decided to open it and now runs it with her husband and a café where pottery classes take place in the middle of the space.
Both visits proved how creativity can drive community.This project strengthened not just my entrepreneurial mindset but also introduced me to a specific way of living that Ukranians have adapted to. The Erasmus program offered a rich and engaging experience, teaching us about social entrepreneurship, structural approaches to societal challenges, and meaningful ways to address them. Beyond the lessons, it was the people who made the experience exceptional. Each day was filled with laughter, support, and genuine connections that I will always cherish.
The journey to and from Vinnitsya was an adventure on its own, reminding me that growth often happens outside our comfort zone. But what left the deepest impact was witnessing the resilience of the Ukrainian people. Despite the hardships they face, their strength, optimism, and determination to create something better were deeply inspiring. Seeing how they continue to build, dream, and move forward encouraged me to take bolder steps in my own life, to face challenges with courage and to believe in the power of community and perseverance.
