BRAVO BiH

The Greench” training course was my 2nd Erasmus+ project experience, and I have to say that it was even better than the first one. I had high expectations for Italy overall as a country, but also for the project and the topic that we were covering. I am happy to say that those expectations were exceeded in every aspect! I got to meet beautiful, open-minded people with unique and interesting perspectives. Some of those people I already call dear friends and hopefully will continue to call them friends for a long time. I got to experience other cultures and connect with them as we all looked for similarities between all the cultures.

The trainers were a group of very kind, understanding people that were doing their job very well with immense pride and excitement. They were especially good at explaining and showing practical examples in a fun and intriguing way with all kinds of interesting games. They also took us on long but beautiful walks and showed us the richness of nature in the “Cuggiono” area. I was happy to see that we all realized that sustainability is something that can be integrated and applied in every sector of life, and that it needs to be a lifestyle in order to work. This project gave me inspiration to start initiatives in my own local community regarding the sustainability issues that are very prominent in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I had the opportunity to take part in a training course called “Greench” in the small, picturesque town of Castelletto di Cuggiono, Italy. The fact that we were going to spend nine days in a monastery and get to know an elderly couple who prepared our breakfast made for an amazing start to the project. The accommodation itself was a wonderful way to experience the rich history of the place.

The diverse and interactive training course helped me learn more about effective sustainable initiatives, methods of food waste management and recycling, and how we can contribute on an individual or local level. My favorite sessions were those in which each participant shared the environmental challenges their country is facing and presented good-case practices.

Now, after reflecting on every aspect of the training course, it seems that this experience has left a lasting impression on me— the training, facilitators, organization, and, of course, Italian cuisine. – Anes Mušić

Taking part in “The Greench” training course has been the highlight of my year so far! Being surrounded by a group of internationally passionate young people committed to finding real, practical eco-solutions gave me a fresh perspective. I had assumed that youth were generally uninterested in environmental issues, but I realized the real problem wasn’t apathy—it was a lack of education. During the training, we had many study visits which were particularly inspiring, demonstrating how communities can work together to implement a realistic change. What struck me most was how deeply people respected and cared for their surroundings—it wasn’t just about rules or policies, but a genuine way of life. That’s something we should all strive for before we reach a point of no return!

Most importantly, I was truly honored to meet amazing people from all over Europe while also representing my country alongside my amazing teammates, Faruk and Anes. Together, we explored the stunning landscapes of northern Italy and saw firsthand how environmental theory can be successfully put into practice in our home country as well. I’m excited to return to my community with concrete, actionable ideas to help kickstart local eco-initiatives. It’s time to make sustainability a daily habit, not just an occasional effort. Let’s be part of the solution, not part of the pollution! – Fatima Jichi
