On Friday, May 23rd, BRAVO had the pleasure of welcoming 24 students in International Relations and International Development from the University of Birmingham to our office in Sarajevo. The visit offered an opportunity for the students to gain deeper insight into the mission and work of BRAVO as a leading NGO in the region.
The event began with a presentation introducing BRAVO’s core activities and current projects, with a special focus on our involvement in Erasmus+ programmes. These initiatives provide young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the chance to travel across Europe and engage in projects covering a wide range of topics—all free of charge, thanks to European funding. It is a unique opportunity for young people across Europe.
During the session, we emphasized how these opportunities are not only educational but also transformational. Through non-formal education, BRAVO aims to empower youth by helping them develop crucial soft skills such as public speaking and problem-solving.
More than just international exposure, these experiences allow participants to gain valuable work experience, enhancing their employability and equipping them with tools for future success.
A key part of BRAVO’s vision is to contribute to Bosnia’s development by sending young people abroad to learn and then encouraging them to apply and share their knowledge in the country. This cycle of learning and reinvestment helps foster a culture of progress and active citizenship in the country.
To conclude the visit on a fun and interactive note, we organized a life-sized game of Bingo, giving everyone a chance to bond and get to know each other better in a relaxed setting. It was a pleasure to meet and engage with young people from the UK.Progress and fulfillment happen where cultures meet. Thank you for visiting us!
