BRAVO is organizing the First Winter Academy which will be held online. The First Winter Academy presents perfect opportunity for young people to become part of a great story and the best part is that you can take part in it from the comfort of your home!

 

The main goal of the Winter Academy is to give young people the opportunity to improve various skills and engage in intercultural dialogue. By actively participating, young people will expand their knowledge and become part of the network of young leaders and creators of positive changes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

 

BACKGROUND OF THE BRAVO WINTER ACADEMY

The seven different organizations from the countries of Belgium, Spain, Croatia, Kosovo, B&H, and Albania are united within the project ‘’Empowering Human Dignity of EU & WB youth”.  Their main mission is to during the next three years implement project activities that will provide more than 500 young people from Europe and Western Balkans with educational opportunities, through which they will get the opportunity to develop skills and learn more about leadership.

 

The partner countries in this project are the following:

  • World Youth Alliance Europe for Belgium
  • World Youth Alliance South Eastern Europe for Croatia
  • World Youth Alliance Spain for Spain
  • EPOKA University for Albania
  • KVRP for Kosovo

THE MAIN AIM OF THE WINTER ACADEMY

The main focus of the Winter Academy is to educate young people. The main goal is to identify the best candidates with the highest ambitions in order to provide support in reaching their maximum potential, not only through completing all the Academy’s programs but also through establishing connections with other young people.

 

The Winter Academy incorporates learning and mentorship, enabling participants to put their knowledge into practice. Besides academic and professional growth, the Winter Academy puts a special focus on the personal development of young people, equipping them with the necessary tools to overcome challenges, discover themselves but also develop skills to thrive as young leaders of the society.

THE MODULES OF THE ACADEMY

The winter academy will consist of 4 modules.

 

 Module 1: Online workshops on the development of soft skills in the field of youth leadership

Date: 03.02.2024.

The session will start with a brief introduction, where participants will engage in an icebreaker which will enable them to loosen up and break off the shackles of their comfort zones. The session will consist of an open discussion through which the topic of soft skills, leadership, and leadership roles will be deepened. Following the discussion, participants will get the opportunity to reflect on their personal growth, further elaborating on the soft skills that they may have developed. The rest of the time will be used to educate participants about soft skills such as communication, emotional intelligence, and leadership strategies. Through this session, participants will get the opportunity to gain deeper insights into the NGO world and the skills they need to develop in order to achieve leadership positions.

 

Module 2: Online discussion groups on the topics of Human Dignity and EU values

Date: 10.02.2024.

By taking part in this module, participants will engage in discussion groups that will focus on the subjects of Human Dignity and EU Values. They will deepen their knowledge regarding the concepts of Human Dignity in the 21st century and learn more about EU values. The participants will get the opportunity to explore the role of Erasmus+ and its benefits for young people. Additionally, the session will be led by an experienced facilitator with many years of experience in Erasmus+. 

 

Module 3: Critical thinking and media literacy sessions

Date: 17.02.2024.

The third module will be focused on critical thinking and media literacy sessions for youth. Through the sessions, participants will learn more about the challenges created by the digital age, the fundamentals of media literacy and the main differences between true and fake news. The participants will gain deeper knowledge which is necessary to navigate through the challenges of the digital age. Overall, the participants will be encouraged to responsibly engage with media content.

 

Module 4: Intercultural talks – online cultural events for youth

Date: 24.02.2024.

The fourth module will consist of interactive sessions that will enable the exploration of diverse perspectives and experiences. By completing this module, participants will broaden their horizons and learn about the ways to navigate cultural changes in Europe from social and real-life perspectives. The session will be led by a Lebanese French facilitator, living in Finland and he will talk about his exchange of cultural experiences and the challenges faced. The session will foster discussion and also enable participants to share their own stories.

It is mandatory to attend one module, but the best part is that you can choose the module that best suits your needs. Although it is not necessary, you are more than welcome to attend all 4 modules! Each module will be held on Saturday and it will last two hours. After you complete all 5 modules you will get the certificate of completion.
