BRAVO BiH

On July 18th and 19th, the BRAVO office in Sarajevo hosted a special in-person training for the NURTURE project. Participants who were eager to improve their career counseling skills and learn how to become better mentors attended this two-day workshop, which will help advance the NURTURE project’s goals in the Western Balkans.

The training covered several key areas:

  • Career Counseling Methodologies

Participants learned different methods and leading practices for career counseling. This knowledge will help them guide young people more effectively on their desired career paths.

  • Simulated Counseling Sessions

The training included in-depth and hands-on practice sessions where participants could apply what they learned. As part of these mock counseling sessions, the participants received valuable feedback both from the trainers and their fellow peers.

  • The Apprenticeship Model

Attendees dove into the Nurture project’s apprenticeship model, which aims to give young people valuable work experience in the NGO sector. They learned how to help young people develop CVs and cover letters for the apprenticeship they will be applying for.

  • Mentoring Basics

The workshop also covered the basics of mentoring. Participants reflected on the characteristics of a good mentor using examples from their own life and discussed some principles for building supportive mentor-mentee relationships that foster both professional and personal growth.

This training represented an important step towards achieving the NURTURE project’s goals in the Western Balkans. By providing training on these essential skills, the project aims to create a network of skilled career counselors and mentors who can support individuals in their career development, thereby contributing to the region’s growth.
