On April 15th, partners of the DevelopMENS project gathered for an online meeting focused on the presentation of the project’s new MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) platform. This meeting marked an important milestone in the project, as it provided an opportunity for all partners to become familiar with the platform that will serve as a central hub for educational content and virtual exchanges.
The platform was presented by the developers who built it, offering a detailed walkthrough of its features and structure. During the session, participants were guided through the complete content available on the platform, including test quizzes, learning modules, and all additional resources foreseen within the project’s framework. Special attention was given to ensuring that the platform is accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with the project’s goals of enhancing self-awareness, critical thinking, media literacy, and soft skills among young people.
The meeting also included discussions about upcoming activities and future content that will be incorporated into the platform.
Partners exchanged ideas and provided valuable feedback on how to further improve the platform to best serve its intended audience.
The MOOC platform is a crucial part of the DevelopMENS project, aiming to make educational resources available to a wide audience in multiple languages, and to foster personal and social development through innovative learning approaches. This meeting successfully set the stage for the next steps in finalizing and launching the platform, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and relevance for young learners across Europe and the Western Balkans.
MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT
DevelopMENS is a transnational project that brings together a consortium of partners from 6 different countries, including Italy (L’ORMA – applicant), Croatia (Vere Montis), Bulgaria (BSDA) (Programme Countries) and Bosnia (BRAVO), Albania (New Vision), and Kosovo (Heimerer College) (Region 1 – Western Balkans Countries).
The project aims at enhancing the personal and social development of young people through the integration of self-determination theory, critical thinking, and media literacy into formal, non-formal, and informal education. It involves conducting scientific research and focus groups on self-determination theory, intrinsic motivation, and soft skills, developing educational content based on the research findings, and creating a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to disseminate the knowledge and skills acquired.
In addition to the MOOC, the project will also organize virtual exchanges among youth workers, psychologists, educators, and young people. These exchanges will be an opportunity for stakeholders to share good practices and exchange ideas on how to integrate self-determination theory, critical thinking, and media literacy into formal, non-formal, and informal education. These virtual exchanges will also facilitate intercultural learning and provide a platform for young people to develop their soft skills, such as communication and teamwork.
