« I’m in the seventh grade and I’m an excellent student. Swimming means a lot to me, primarily because of my health, but also because of my friends. I don’t know how I would do without this. I’ve been training for five years, three or four times a week. I wish I could do more » said Ismail Barlov.

 

Ismail Barlov, born in 2010 with physical deformities; is a boy who finished fourth in the 50m breaststroke and seventh in the 150m medley at the World Senior Para-Swimming Championships in Manchester this year. He achieved the title of European champion and secured the gold medal in the final with a time of 1:01:15.

Also, the paraswimming representative from Bosnia and Herzegovina, secured the gold medal at the European Senior Championship taking place in Portugal from April 21 to 27. The 13-year-old athlete made history in Madeira by excelling in the 50m breaststroke event. 

This joyful boy mentions that his go to the Swimming Club “SPID” (Sports and Invalids Society) with his closest friend, Ismail Zulfić; Another child who has also won many prizes.

 

Ismail Zulfić is born in 2010, without upper limbs and with a deformity of the right foot. Therefore, only his left foot is functional. 

 

This year, during the morning qualifications of the first day of competition at the World Series in Paraswimming in Berlin, Ismail Zulfić set the record for the fastest time in Europe for the 100 meters dolphin event in class S5.

He broke a 22-year-old European record in Berlin.

 

We remind you that Ismail Zulfić is the winner of the Award for Excellence and Motivation at the manifestation of the selection of the best athletes of the Zenica-Doboj Canton organized by Naša riječ. The great fighter and born winner already has numerous sports achievements and a handful of medals behind him.
