Disasters in the realities of the world affect nations and countries from various perspectives. We encounter many different disasters in our living spaces, impacting societies psychologically, socially, economically, and socioculturally. In addition to natural disasters, societies face various human-made disasters, such as those caused by nuclear, biological, and industrial accidents, as well as issues involving immigrants, displaced people, and wars. The importance and diversity of disasters vary by country. According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), between 1970 and 2019, 50% of the disasters reported were related to air, climate, and water hazards. These accounted for 45% of the reported deaths and 74% of all reported economic losses due to disasters. In Europe alone, 1,672 disasters were recorded, resulting in 159,438 deaths and $476.5 billion in economic damage.
