WHAT IS SALTO SEE MEETING POINT?
If you are active in the youth field in the Western Balkans or interested in cooperating with the region and have questions about the Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps, how to get involved and what is the role of SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre, then we urge you to register and take part in these informative online sessions!
The SALTO South East Europe “Meeting Point” is an online space to ask these questions, find answers to them, and to explore the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps and their quality implementation in a practical and solution-oriented manner.
BACKGROUND
The SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre (SALTO SEE) was established by the European Commission to support cooperation with the Western Balkan countries in the frame of the Erasmus+ Programme (youth field) and the European Solidarity Corps. Through the support of these programs, we aim to promote European cooperation in the field of youth and contribute to the development and recognition of youth work and volunteering in the Western Balkan region. Since our work is closely associated with the objectives and priorities of both programs and their application in the youth field, in our activities we address the topics of inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, diversity, youth participation, and solidarity, as well as the development of constructive responses to the digital transformation and environmental crisis.
ABOUT THE SALTO SEE MEETING POINT
A series of online sessions, where we invite people and organizations active in the youth field in or with the Western Balkan region to:
- Learn more about our work and activities
- Discuss how the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps have been and can be used in the Western Balkans to support youth work and volunteering from local to international levels
- Clarify any questions about how to get involved
- Open space for dialogue, exchange, and networking among different stakeholders.
The online sessions are open for anyone regardless of possible prior experience in the programs or our activities. There is no application process. The attendance however requires prior registration.
The online sessions will take place every first Monday of the month from September 2023 to March 2024 (with the exception of December, when it is the second Monday and January, when there is no session) at 14:00 – 16:00 CET. Prior registration to each session separately is required.
Each session has a specific topical focus is addressed through:
- opportunities provided by the program to address the topic
- upcoming support activities by SALTO SEE or other support structures of the programs
- resources and support available.
SCHEDULE OF THE SESSIONS
First session: Let’s talk about how SALTO SEE can support you
- Date and time: 4 September 2023 at 14:00 – 16:00 CET
- Theme of the session: This session will introduce us, to the SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre and our staff, our Contact Points, some other experts we work with, and our activities and resources, that you can benefit from.
Second session: Let’s talk about learning mobility
- Date and time: 2 October 2023 at 14:00 – 16:00 CET
- The theme of the session: This session will address the various opportunities for learning mobility of young people within the Erasmus+ Programme (youth field) and the European Solidarity Corps and ways in which you can utilize them.
Third session: Let’s talk about the development of youth work
- Date and time: 6 November 2023 at 14:00 – 16:00 CET
- The of the session: This session will explore how the Erasmus+ Programme (youth field) and the European Solidarity Corps can positively contribute to the development of youth work and volunteering.
Fourth session: Let’s talk about youth work and youth policy development at the local level
- Date and time: 11 December 2023 at 14:00 – 16:00 CET
- The theme of the session: This session will focus on how youth work and youth policy at the local level can develop in line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme (youth field) and the European Solidarity Corps and how their support can be used by individuals and organizations.
Fifth session: Let’s talk about solidarity and volunteering
- Date and time: 5 February 2024 at 14:00 – 16:00 CET
- Theme of the session: This session will provide insight into the topic of volunteering and how the concept of solidarity connects with it and how to use this link for the benefit of young people, organisations and local communities.
Sixth session: Let’s talk about European cooperation in a wider geographical context
- Date and time: 4 March 2024 at 14:00 – 16:00 CET
- Theme of the session: This session will highlight the mutual benefit of cooperation among the Western Balkan countries and other European countries within the Erasmus+ Programme (youth field) and the European Solidarity Corps.
Contact Point for Bosnia and Herzegovina - "BRAVO"
Bosnian Representative Association for Valuable Opportunities (BRAVO) is a non-governmental organization that prioritizes knowledge, entrepreneurship, civil society development, non-formal education, and innovative learning and development techniques for young people and adults. BRAVO’s key principles are tolerance, democracy, diversity, voluntariness, and openness, which guide the organization’s actions.
BRAVO is a leading organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina that serves as the Contact Point for Erasmus+ Youth. As such, it plays a crucial role in facilitating and supporting the participation of Bosnian youth in various Erasmus+ youth programs.
Additionally, BRAVO has been recognized for its outstanding humanitarian work and has received the ESC Humanitarian Aid Quality Label, making it one of only 100 organizations in the world to have earned this prestigious accreditation. Furthermore, BRAVO has also been awarded the Quality Label for European Solidarity Corps, which attests to its commitment to excellence in the area of solidarity and volunteering.
BRAVO’s expertise extends beyond youth development and humanitarian work. It is the only organization in the Western Balkans region that has the authority to certify companies and individuals on digital skills and competencies. This certification program is designed to equip individuals and organizations with the skills they need to thrive in today’s digital landscape.
Overall, BRAVO is an organization committed to driving positive change in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond. Its focus on youth development, humanitarian aid, and digital skills training, along with its numerous accreditations and certifications, makes it a highly respected and effective organization in the region.
BRAVO fosters partnerships between the private, public, and civil society sectors, enabling it to contribute to long-term local community development. Its focus is on empowering youth to gain the skills necessary for the 21st century, offering more accessible and inclusive non-formal education, and investing in innovations and entrepreneurship. BRAVO targets young people aged 15 to 35, but it is also committed to assisting individuals of all ages in need of support.
BRAVO concentrates on worldwide initiatives that uphold European values and ideals, particularly working with individuals who have less access to opportunities. The organization collaborates with institutions and organizations that support people with disabilities, organizing sign language courses and sports activities for individuals who are blind or have impaired vision. BRAVO engages participants from across Europe to volunteer and learn about ways to support vulnerable groups.
BRAVO’s team operates in various fields and topics, including human rights, anti-trafficking, reproductive health and STDs, gender equality and combating gender-based violence, sports, audio and video production, people with fewer opportunities, event organization, entrepreneurship, IT and ICT, technology, humanitarian actions, national and international projects, support in the fight against criminality and corruption, accelerating start-ups, industry 4.0, project management, refugee and migrant support, and creative actions. The organization is also involved in publishing books, brochures, newsletters, flyers, affiliations, and other publications.
