INFO DAY “Sport Diplomacy Academy” – Sarajevo 11.06.2019. at 18:00

The project will ensure the educational mobility of coaches and other staff of sport organizations (incl. volunteers) linked to professional and grassroots sport. The 4 modules of mobility, held in each one of the partners countries with the same group of participants from the project target group will improve their competences as well as their qualifications and acquire new skills through learning mobility and spending a period of time in a foreign country (in and outside of the EU). The learning mobility will be an investment in human capital and a contribution to the capacity building of sport organizations with clear focus on building a network of well-trained sport diplomats. 

Four partner organizations are involved in the project – Bulgarian sports development association – coordinator and initiator of the academy, Rijeka Sports Association, Croatia, the Italian sports organization “ENDAS” and BRAVO – a NGO from Bosnia and Herzegovina.


Expected results of the Sport Diplomacy Academy:

• 80 “diplomats in sport suits” (20 from each partner country) aimed at achieving European integration in the Western Balkan countries through sport; 

• National, regional and local dissemination events (involving at least 400 people) – multiplier effect of acquired skills and knowledge; 

• Platform for the development of sport in the Western Balkans – a practical tool for EU resources and values in the field of sport, with a focus on sports diplomacy and good governance in sport. 

Learning objectives of the #SportDiplomacyAcademy are:

After the implementation of the project mobility, each of the partner countries will have at least 20 well-trained diplomats in sport suits, with practical skills and knowledge in the field of sports diplomacy (political dialogue and international relations, campaigning, successful verbal and non-verbal communication, public speaking, media, protocol and etiquette, EU foreign policy and values). The network that the project will create (4 countries with 20 participants from each country) will focus on supporting and developing the integration of the Western Balkans in the field of sport and will be a quality provider of EU values in the local environment.

The profile of the participants:

  • Sport leaders; Sport coaches; Sport administrators; Students in sport sciences Active young people, involved in sport.
  • Be motivated to develop their competencies in #SportDiplomacy;
  • Already have experience in working in sport field;
  • Be able to act as a multiplier in our local community, ensuring the snowfall effect;
  • Be committed to attend for the full duration of the Sport Diplomacy Academy – 4 modules in the period 2019-2020;
  • Able to speak in English, basic level of language knowledge is required in order that the participant feels comfortable during the event.

N.B. The mentioned action DO NOT involves athletes and mobility of athletes is not possible.

N.B. Participation is all 4 Modules are obligatory.

Participants needs, connected to the topic:

– Ability to gain new knowledge and skills in promotion of #SportDiplomacy principles;

– New tools and practices to use in their work in sport field, related to # SportDiplomacy;

– Exchange practices and ideas with sport experts from other countries.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project Fighting corruption – Expanding the Union involves 11 partner organizations from both EU and non-EU countries (Albania, Croatia, Spain, Romania, BiH, Serbia, Belgium, Kosovo, Montenegro as a coordinator and Slovenia as a host of Training Course in Maribor).

Objectives of the project:
– Increase the level and intensity of cooperation between program countries and partner countries from WB. Related to this is also the long-term aim of creating a robust youth anti-corruption platform focused on the WB but working with a decidedly inter-regional and trans-sectoral perspective.
– Increase the capacities of youth organizations based in WB.
– Increase the competences of youth workers in WB, the EU and beyond.
– Educate youth about recognizing, reporting and fighting corruption.
– Establish the image of the EU as a supranational entity taking a stand against corrupt practices.
– Design a toolkit for educating youth about corruption.
– Educate the general public about corruption in their country and ways of opposing it.

Outputs of the project:


– Toolkit (first draft will be done during the TC)
– 3 webinars (expected shortly after the TC)

Working methods during the TC:

– Learning by doing method
– Presentations
– Debates
– Intercultural dialogue sessions, combined with politics on local, national, EU level and corruption
– Ice-breakers and teambuilding games to get to know each other.
– Workshops will leave room for guided but controversial discussions.
– Reflection groups will take place every evening and will serve as a platform where the participants can give feedback on the activities of the day and also share general impressions they had. Those sessions will be facilitated by experienced facilitators to ensure their quality and value.

Accommodation and food:

Participants will be accommodated at a freshly renovated UNI HOSTEL in the city center https://www.terme-maribor.si/en/hotels/youth-hostel-uni with private toilets, shower and breakfast. Lunch and dinner will be served in every day different restaurant in the city center. Also, coffee breaks will be available every day.

Travel cost:

Every participant has to send us a copy of his tickets and boarding passes via e-mail and the originals via postal mail. Once when we receive all of the tickets, we are going to reimburse your money via bank transfer or cash on the spot.

Finance and financial rules:

The food and accommodation will be provided and paid by the host organization EPEKA Slovenia, with the financial support of the Erasmus+ Programme, the European Commission.

Regarding tickets for traveling, 100% of travel costs will be reimbursed on the basis of the CHEAPEST possibilities, e.g. second class railway tickets, bus, flights etc. by bank transfer after the kick-off meeting as soon as we get the original tickets to our mail address by post.

We advise you to buy your tickets as soon as possible so that it fits in our limited budget for 100% reimbursement.

Thus, we ask you to save all documents (Original tickets, boarding passes, invoices or bills with the ticket price) which are related to your travel, since the documentation background is obligatory for reimbursement. We kindly ask you to buy all the tickets for the travel for both directions – return tickets (plane tickets, train tickets, bus tickets and etc.), because we will be able to reimburse only REAL EXPENSES (made expenses).

IMPORTANT: We cannot refund any travel costs done by taxi.

Participants must travel from the country of the sending organization, and back. Following the guidelines of the Erasmus + program the travel back must be realized by the participants on a direct way within a maximum of 2 days. (You can arrive in Slovenia up to 2 days in advance and leave up to 2 days later. The stay for any additional days is not covered from the projects’ budget)

The accommodation is covered at Hostel Uni only for the days of the activity: 22-27 June 2019. In the case of longer stays or indirect traveling (holiday travel etc.) there is no chance of reimbursement of travel costs. Missing tickets will not be reimbursed as well.

DISABLED AND OLD HOME SUPPORT PROJECT

It is the voluntary support of volunteers among the ages of 17-30 in accordance with the ethical rules for people who are old and disabled at the same time and living alone. Every human will be older one day. Every human being is also a candidate for disability. Our project has been prepared for the purpose of providing support on subjects such as personal care, nutrition, protection of body mechanics, active and efficient aging of old people, elderly care, mental health protection, first aid, rational drug use, measures to be taken for home accidents. 4 volunteers will come to our project at the same time and they will do voluntary services on 2 months basis. A total of 30 volunteers will participate in the project. When carrying out the project, non-formal education methods will be used Project results and impacts: The most painful thing is that a person feels lonely and poor. This situation is to share the loneliness of the elderly individual living in them, to provide them with volunteer support in the social awareness in society. The long-term benefits of our project are to contribute to the development of service quality and standards of local government and private sector organizations working in this field and to contribute to the establishment of entrepreneurs in order to solve this needs and we are expecting to contribute to the development of the desired behaviors in the families of the elderly/disabled

Problems which have been faced during the process of integration disabled people’s into the society varies . Coping with these problems are is only possible with gaining them self-confidence. In our project: Integration of disabled people who have been having difficulties will be easier through trainings and educations by getting gained self-care abilities and solutions for disabled people’s problems will be developed. Within this aim: 22 voluntary young people who has attention fort he integration of disabled people’s into society and effects of cultural differences into subject will come to Turkey for 2month-periods.They will contribute to the development of disabled people receiving service withing the module of self-care for disabled people and these will help disabled people’s gaining self confidence.
